Hazel, my darling chocolate Lab, was born every bit a teenager: full of spunk & sass, ate like a garbage disposal, a bit of a diva, crazy independent (to be a lap dog was way beneath her) & yet always had the big smile & wagging tail to greet everyone & this genuine sweetness that could melt any heart.

When she was 5 years old she was diagnosed with cancer of liver & spleen and was given 6 months at most. She spent the next 7 years on a "chemo cocktail" even though she was considered in full remission after 3 years.

Two weeks after her 13th birthday she went into full renal failure--her back legs would just fall out underneath her while walking, she could not make it outside to relieve herself (she was so ashamed-it broke my heart), was too scared to attempt to go up/down even two steps & her ravenous Labrador appetite vanished! Her kidney function was at 7% at her lowest point and she lost 6 lbs in as many days. I could not even think how I was going to be able to give her more meds when she was not even interested in touching the same dog food I had given her her whole life? I thought I would try raw food--it made sense to feed her what her body was designed for: natural food & meat! NOT fillers & preservatives! I can honestly attest that she DEVOURED that first meal (Primal chicken-still her fave) & everything changed for the better.

Three months later on raw: her kidney function is 18%!!! (higher than it was before renal failure!) Her other lab scores are improving as well & she is gaining a bit of weight to boot. However, being the owner of a Lab, it is pleases me most to see her ENJOYING eating again--she runs to her dish & licks it clean! I never thought I would see that day!

Thank you Primal for doing your job so well that you were able to give me my 'teenager' back... even with all the attitude, I missed her so much!

I wanted to thank you for your wonderful product. My thirteen-year-old shihtzu has suffered for years with arthritis. Even on medication, he's had a distinct limp, and for the past two years could only walk a couple hundred feet before he would stop. I hated to see him in such pain. However, since he's been on your food, he rarely limps, and I've been able to cut down his medication.

Within a few months of being on Primal Nuggets, we are now able to walk around the block and sometime farther. I never take the time to write testimonials, but if this might help other pet owners, I couldn't pass up the chance to share our story.

I have a Yorkie Mix rescue that I have been feeding Primal Lamb Formula. Since he has been on Primal, I have noticed that his blood sugar level has been stable, his hair is now soft instead of wirey, and he is full of energy. He use to be a finicky eater before Primal, but now he loves to eat his food. I mix mine with pumpkin puree & plain yogart (to help his digestive track). It is a little pricier, but I feel it is well worth it for the health benefits.

I have 3 Boxers, ages 7, 4 (both since 10 wks) and a 6 month old (since 4 mos). All of them started on horrible dry food from the breeder & rescue group. I found out about the BARF or RAW food diet a while back and have had all 3 on it since. I first started off 100% RAW from buying wholesale chicken pieces (necks, wings, back, etc), grinding up my own veggie mush with supplements, then went to the more convenient PRIMAL RAW, which takes out all the work & time involved in prepping all the food. Especially now that I have 3!

Every time I walk my 3, I get compliments on how great their coats look, how healthy their weights are, and most of all their general overall appearance. I attribute this to their 75% diet & 25% lifestyle.

It may sound unappetizing, but every time they go #2, it's solid, minimal mess, and not as frequent as when they were on dry. I know they are eating only the best quality of food. I also add additional supplements: Omega 3's, Glucosamine for all 3, as well as the occasional egg & olive oil.

My 3 are my furbabies and only eat the quality that I would eat. There's so many benefits to this raw diet: they don't have a strong "dog" smell, they appear very very healthy and I love it.

I said goodbye to my beloved Kimo, the Australian Cattle Dog after close to 17 years of friendship on August 5, 2009. His health was excellent besides his cancer. Primal formula certainly kept him healthy the last 6 years of his life.

He developed digestive sensitivities when he was about 9 and the veterinary-prescribed diet made him anemic within a few months. Cooking food for him after that was no problem, except that chicken from the butcher was too fatty and I admit mixing the necessary vegetables was time consuming. Hey Primal Pals, I just wanted to give you guys an update since my last testimonial. We've since moved back to Boulder, CO from Encinitas, CA, but are still feeding Primal everyday to all our animals. Unfortunately, before leaving California, we were forced to say goodbye to Cream, our 17-year-old tabby, but his last years were definitely made better thanks to Primal.

And as fate would have it, we also welcomed a new kitten into our family around the same time; a stray we named Roo who we found "roo-ting" around in a field looking for scraps. He now gets his Primal everyday and is doing great.

I adopted Gracie (about 1.5 yrs. old) in April 2009. She's a large cat naturally, but she's about 3 pounds under weight and was starting to lose weight due to lack of interest in her food. After a lot of tests, she was deemed perfectly healthy. The vet had no idea why Gracie wasn't eating.

So, on the advice of a friend, I went to a local holistic pet store and grabbed probably a dozen different dry foods along with a starter pack of Primal. Well, Gracie didn't like any of the dry foods. She loved the raw food. I was a little scared at first of feeding a raw diet, but it's what she liked, and that counts for a lot. Gracie is now eating Beef and Salmon and she's up to 1.5 nuggets a day. Her coat has become so soft and shiny. She seems to have even more energy than before and plays constantly. My Shih Tzu, Sara, picked me from a visit to a local animal store that was sponsoring a dog rescue. She was almost 7 years old and came with some health issues.
