Primal food was the first raw dog food we started with and we continue to use Primal for our two Dalmatians. Primal has raised the bar on raw dog food with their quality and organic ingredients. My dogs are highly active supporting the public in Fire Safety Prevention week; meet the breed, large Fire Parades, AKC Dog Shows, etc. Everyone comments on their wonderful and healthy looking coat. Their energy level is incredibly active and they waste little.

When people ask WHY does my dogs look and feel so good, I explain the importance of quality raw food and I share with them the Primal food ingredients and the organization. I hand out Primal information (brochures) that explain the organization and ingredients. Your dog can have good gens, but to live a long and healthy life, I give my dogs the best possible chance of being healthy and I have NO vet bills. I tell people that I get a sense of relief knowing that my dogs are eating the very best food on the market. A couple of years ago, our cat Scherzo was rushed to the emergency clinic with a urethral blockage -- a life threatening but fortunately treatable condition. As the vet explained, cats who are free-fed dry food are prone to developing crystals in their urine from dehydration and pH imbalance, and poor Scherzo's bladder was more crystal than liquid at that point. (We have also never been able to get him interested in drinking water no matter what we tried, which didn't help.)

Our vet switched us to a prescription canned food, which made Scherzo's existing tendency toward diarrhea worse. After a week of that mess we began researching our raw food options, including making our own food and supplements. A friend mentioned Primal so we decided to try it, and both Scherzo and our other cat Vespers fell in love with the Feline Chicken and Salmon nuggets. A year later when we took Scherzo to the vet for a followup urinalysis, it was, in the vet's words, "completely boring" -- a clean bill of health! As a bonus, his diarrhea cleared up, and both cats are healthy and happy. They've since been joined by a new kitten, and he loves Feline Chicken and Salmon too.

These two boys LOVE their Primal. The longhair on the left (Mugen) used to have itchy, flaky skin and his medical record shows at least two visits a year to his vet to get steroids and antibiotics to clear up those icky skin infections. With the switch to the Primal Beef Formula and the addition of fish oil and skin-friendly herbs, no more vet visits for skin! The short hair guy on the right came from a dachshund rescue group where he was fed a cheap, dry kibble. He now enjoys the same diet as his "brother", and as a result his coat transformed from a dull black into a lustrous, deep, shiny black that gets nothing but compliments. Hi, I want to thank you for your amazing products. Our 12 year old cat Lucky was recently diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. She had lost a lot of weight (from 11 pounds to under 8) and became unable to keep most of her food down. The vet recommended steroids and we were very reluctant because of the risks and side effects.

I stared reading about raw food diets and found your food at a local retailer. Since putting Lucky on a Primal raw food diet she has regained all of her weight holds all of her food down and has completely become herself again. We switched our two 12-year old cats to Primal feline venison a couple of months ago. They had been on a raw diet for the last six years, but I was using a brand that wasn't complete and I had to add supplements. One of the cats developed a skin problem and I thought it might be a food allergy, so I was trying to eliminate as many additives as possible. They had both been diagnosed with diabetes at around the same time, and they also needed to lose some weight.

They definitely preferred Primal and it was an easy switch. It's also much easier to portion for weight control. Anyway, as a result of the change to Primal and some weight loss, they are both now diabetes free and have never looked better! Our three and a half year old doberman has been on raw food since he was 9 weeks old. He eats all varieties of Primal (and some home cooked veggies along with that....and fresh fruit). I began making my dog's food at home when I adopted her from a shelter. I made a "mush" that contained everything she needed (except the meat) and supplemented with quarter chickens, turkey necks, beef ribs, a whole gamut of yummy stuff.

Just when I thought kittens couldn't be any MORE energetic, I started my two boys (both under six months) and my four year old female on a transition to Primal Pet Foods only one week ago, and they have all been more playful and lively than I've EVER seen them!
