Painted Hills Natural Beef
In light of the recent public concern over imported wheat and rice
gluten, I have been asked to explain the method in which Painted Hills
Natural Beef cattle are fed and finished.
All Painted Hills Natural Beef are fed locally grown feed that is chopped
and mixed daily at the feeding facility. Our ration consists of locally
grown alfalfa hay, barley, corn and a small quantity of potato for moisture.
Our cattle are raised in two regions where their feed is locally grown
and readily available; Vale, Oregon and Pasco, Washington. Vale is a
very productive area where both corn and hay are grown to feed our cattle.
Pasco is also a productive farming hub where both corn and alfalfa hay
are grown in large supply.
Painted Hills Natural Beef does not use any imported wheat gluten, rice
gluten or rice protein concentrate in any portion of the feed for cattle
in our program.
Respectfully,
Will Homer
